2024년 1학기 서강대학교 정보통신대학원 텐서플로우 활용 기초 과목을 수강 중인 김이소, 고세영, 최원준 학생이 ‘춘천시 공공데이터 활용 아이디어 공모전’에서 입상(우수상)하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.
이들이 제출한 연구 주제는 “자연어 처리 기법을 활용한 교통 민원 개선에 관한 연구: 춘천시 노선별 버스민원통합 데이터를 사례로”로, 팀 프로젝트의 일환으로 진행되었다. 이 연구는 춘천시의 버스 민원 데이터를 분석하여 개선 방안을 제시함으로써 실제 도시 교통 문제 해결에 기여할 가능성을 보여준 것이 특징이다.
담당과목의 정화민 교수(현: 타우데이타 주식회사 대표이사/ Ph.D)는 “학생들이 이론적 지식을 실제 문제 해결에 적용하여 이러한 성과를 얻게 된 것에 대해 매우 자랑스럽게 생각한다”며 수상을 축하해 주었다.
이번 수상은 빅 데이터와 AI 기술을 활용한 혁신적인 접근 방식이 공공 분야에서도 큰 효과를 발휘할 수 있음을 입증하는 사례로, 앞으로도 다양한 데이터 기반 연구가 활성화될 것으로 기대된다.
“Students from the Graduate School of Information and Communications at Sogang University Win Award in Public Data Utilization Idea Contest.
During the first semester of 2024, Sogang University’s Graduate School of Information and Communications students Kim Yiso, Ko Seyoung, and Choi Wonjun, who were enrolled in a basic course on TensorFlow, won an excellence award at the ‘Chuncheon City Public Data Utilization Idea Contest.’ The research topic they submitted was ‘A Study on Traffic Complaints Improvement Using Natural Language Processing Techniques: A Case Study of Integrated Bus Complaint Data by Routes in Chuncheon City,’ conducted as part of a team project. This research was characterized by its potential to contribute to solving actual urban traffic issues by analyzing bus complaint data from Chuncheon City and proposing improvements. Professor Jeong Hwamin, responsible for the course, expressed great pride in the students’ achievement, stating, ‘I am very proud that the students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems and achieve such results.’ He congratulated the students on their award. This award proves that innovative approaches using big data and AI technology can have significant impacts in the public sector, and it is expected that various data-based studies will continue to thrive in the future.”
