2024년 5월 24일, 인천 인스파이어 호텔에서 열린 S/W 프로젝트 실무 역량 강화 워크숍에서 타우데이타의 정화민 대표이사가 숭실대학교 컴퓨터학부, 글로벌미디어학부 4학년 학생들을 대상으로 한 인공지능 프로젝트 멘토링을 진행하였다. 이번 워크숍은 사단법인 벤처기업협회(KOVA)의 주최로 진행되었으며, 정 대표는 서강대학교 정보통신대학원에서 데이터사이언스 & AI를 전공하고 현재는 겸임교수(Ph.D)로 재직 중이다. 그는 인공지능 분야에서 다수의 특허와 논문, 그리고 저작권을 보유하고 있으며, 이러한 이론 및 실무적 능력을 바탕으로 학생들의 프로젝트에 실질적인 도움을 제공하고자 이번 멘토링에 참여하게 되었다고 전했다.
정 대표는 이론 및 실무 경험을 바탕으로 학생들에게 ‘인공지능 기반 가족 돌봄자 심리상담 서비스 개발’과 ‘국민건강데이터(100만건)를 활용한 머신러닝 기반 노인 당뇨 예측 및 건강기능식품 추천 서비스 개발’이라는 두 가지 프로젝트를 지도했고, 이 프로젝트들은 인공지능의 적용을 통해 사회적으로 중요한 문제 해결에 기여하고자 하는 목표를 갖고 있다고 하였다.
정 대표는 “인공지능 기술의 발전이 가정과 사회 전반에 긍정적인 변화를 가져올 수 있다”며, “이러한 기술을 학생들이 실제로 응용할 수 있도록 지원하는 것이 중요하다”고 강조했다. 또한, “인공지능 교육의 활성화가 미래 인재들에게 절대적으로 필요하다”고 덧붙이며, 더 많은 교육 기회가 제공되길 바란다고 전했다.
이번 멘토링은 학생들에게 실무적 적용능력을 키우는 동시에, 미래의 경력 개발에 있어 중요한 경험이 될 것으로 기대된다며, 벤처기업협회와 이와 같은 교육적 기회를 통해 기술 중심의 벤처 생태계 확장에 적극 참여할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

On May 24, 2024, Jeong Hwa-min, CEO of Taudata, mentored fourth-year students from the Department of Computer Science at Soongsil University during the S/W Project Practical Competency Enhancement Workshop held at the Inspire Hotel in Incheon. This workshop was organized by the Korea Venture Business Association (KOVA). Jung, who holds a Ph.D. and is an adjunct professor at Sogang University’s Graduate School of Information and Communication specializing in Data Science & AI, participated in this event.
Jung, who holds numerous patents, papers, and copyrights in the field of artificial intelligence, stated that he joined the mentoring program to provide substantial assistance to students’ projects based on his theoretical and practical expertise. During the workshop, he guided students through two projects: ‘Development of AI-based Psychological Counseling Services for Family Caregivers’ and ‘Development of a Machine Learning-based Elderly Diabetes Prediction and Health Supplement Recommendation Service Utilizing National Health Data (1 million records).’ These projects aim to address socially significant issues through the application of AI.
Jung emphasized, “The advancement of AI technology can bring positive changes to households and society as a whole,” and added, “It is important to support students in practically applying these technologies.” He also highlighted the necessity of promoting AI education for future talents, expressing his hope for more educational opportunities.
This mentoring session is expected to enhance students’ practical application skills and provide valuable experience for their future career development. The Korea Venture Business Association also announced its active participation in expanding a technology-centered venture ecosystem through such educational opportunities.
